Maka’ala Yates, D.C., is a Kanaka Maoli (Hawaiian Ancestry) who specializes in Hawaiian medicine. He is a board member of the Ahahui Ho’ola Hawaii (Traditional Healing Council) and the Pacific Island Council of Traditional Healing and has been practicing and teaching lomilomi concepts for over 25 years, trained by Hawaiian healing masters in his native home, the Big Island of Hawaii. He is President and Founder of the Hawaiian Healing Academy and has recently received the Kaonohi Award for Hawaiian medicine and culture. Dr. Yates is presently writing a book on his work in the ancient Hawaiian sacred sciences of spiritual healing.
