Mana Lomi™ literally means “Divine Lifeforce of Lomi.” It is the ability to communicate through the soft tissues of the body deep into the bones of the individual. This skill helps the practitioner to connect on a deeper level so healing can take place should that soul desire it. The ancient technologies of working with the body, mind, energetic fields and soul of an individual was held secret until only recently.
Mana Lomi™ is based on Hawaiian concepts and principles that have helped people for many generations. It is hands on healing that is deep and powerful, yet gentle, giving immediate and long-term results. To become a practitioner of Mana Lomi™ a student must have successfully completed level 1 or higher with a certified HHA Kumu (teacher). Each level is a 28-hour course approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). After successful completion of each level each student is required to submit 15 lomi reports that involves working on 15 different people using techniques studied under HHA. The student’s Kumu then evaluates these reports and gives feedback before finally approving the individual practitioner to officially use the trademark Mana Lomi™ in their practice.
To become an approved Kumu within HHA takes an average of 2 years and many hours of clinical experience using this method of lomilomi. The different levels of Mana Lomi™ includes:
- Level 1 – Clinical lomilomi techniques
- Level 2 – Advance lomi skills
- Lomi’ili’ili – Therapeutic Hawaiian hot stone therapy
- Lomi 3 – Ho’onoho’iwi. The ability to use the bones and joints to affect the plasticity of soft tissues to further enhance the outcome of various physical maladies.
The Mana Lomi™ trademark is owned by Hawaiian Healing Academy, L.L.C. (HHA) and is registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Arlington, Virginia. Only authorized therapist and teachers under HHA are allowed to use this trademark name in their work or teaching.
The Mana Lomi™ technique is available for everyone that is open to learning the ancient Hawaiian ways of healing be it licensed massage therapist, Doctors or for those that just want to help their family and friends.
