1-Day Workshop
Each 1-day workshop incorporates Mana Lomi® level 1 (clinical lomi), level 2 (advance procedures) and level 3 (ho’onoho’iwi – using bones to release hard to access muscles) techniques.
You will learn how to transition all three levels into your work and how to “problem solve”
physical maladies.
-Lomi’ili’ili (Hawaiian Hot Stone Therapy)
Lomi‘ili’ili, which literally means “flat stones in motion,” have been used in Hawaii for hundreds of years to treat the many levels of healing necessary to help restore balance in the mind-body-soul. Traditionally, stones were used as an extension of the hands to help the practitioner to better access hard to reach physical restrictions.
This intensive training invites you to experience the traditional and ancient Hawaiian art form of hot stone therapy that is specific to the individual’s needs. Each student will learn how to collect stones using proper protocols, how to heat the stones and control the temperature, and how to clean the stones.
You will learn the three basic (formats) using hot stones, including "transitions." This training is more than just laying of stones onto the patient; it is specific to the individual’s needs as it focuses on probelm solving! The more Mana Lomi® skills you
have the more uses stones become.
MANA LOMI® SCHOOL
The National Certification Board approves Dr. Maka’ala Yates and Mana Lomi for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider.
This program is usually offered in October of each year and is held on the island of Kauai. Please check our schedule for specifics dates.
The central philosophy of Mana Lomi® is that each person is equally Divine in every aspect: body, mind & soul. The concept of evaluating the constitution of the whole person and finding the imbalance, allows the lomi practitioner to look at each patient as a unique individual.
This two week intensive program is designed for those that want to accelerate the learning process of Hawaiian healing, especially using Mana Lomi®. This intensive training is held only once per year in Hawaii and includes lomi 1, 2, stones, some joint mobilization techniques, Hawaiian sweats, ho’oponopono, Hawaiian meditation, Hawaiian healing chants and clinical experience using the learned techniques. The maximum amount of students allowed is 16 so that an ideal ratio of students to teacher and assistants can be achieved.
